If the element as glowing red, I agree with applianceman that a problem in the control is most likely responsible.

If it is only getting warm or only part of it glowing, a short somewhere is the range or in the element itself could be the cause.


Also, can you double which the last digit of your model number? I found listings for models using just about every other letter besides FEF326ABD

If its staying cherry red the clock (main board) is the most likely problem. Range Repair Guide

The other night, the oven element would not turn off. I cut power at the circuit breaker, waited a few minutes, then tried turning the breaker back on. The element went on again. Is it clear what would cause this, or might their be multiple problems that could cause this symptom?
