Hi TDMA or forum expert, I just ordered and received the exact same part, and same as you, it doesn't have the little ribbon that goes to a heating element inside, that seems to keep the outside of the chute door defrosted. Did you just unplug the old ribbon that runs up inside the freezer door? hard to do? tips on how? Have you had any frost build-up on the outside of the new door without the heating element? I've put the new door in, and I had torn the heating element out of the old part and it's just hanging there now. thanks

The frost IS coming from the air leak, If you get it sealed up, The frost won't be a problem, Good Luck!!!!!!!:)

Thanks all,

I bought the part without the heater in it.

Just as pictured above.

Now lets wait to see if the chute still freezes up because it no longer has a heater in it.

Thanks for all the help.

update

I found a parts breakdown. Wife had it filed under E for everything I
file away.

Ice door, part number 2180352, has the foam erroded away at the bottom giving a poor seal.

The new problem.

The part has changed, the old one has a ribbon cable for a heater that prevents ice build up, the new one does not have the heater.

I would like to have the one with the heater.

There is a similar part number molded on to the part itself. 2180207.

Anybody have any idea where to find one???

Thanks

I have taken a closer look.

It seems there is a spring missing on the flap door, there is only one on the right. Looks like there should be another on the left.

Now the problem.

I took the model # off the inside of the fridge label,
it is a very small 106 followed by 59509992

This model number doesn't work in the search.

I need a parts breakdown and then maybe I can figure out how to get to the area without breaking something more expensive.

Thanks for you help people.

I think you are on to something there. I took a warm cloth and cleaned out the chute and the area above it by the crusher. The flapper closes most of the time but a couple times it seemed to hang up.

Is this a replaceable part? Do they get rusty or sticky over time?
The fridge is having it's 9th birthday next month.
