My chest freezer quit working, food started to get soft on top....Light was on but no sound was coming from motor or anything. Tried turning the temp dial to colder but no results. Unplugged freezer for 30-45 minutes....plugged back in & it started humming. During all of this time, we took everything out & stored in another friends freezer. We cleaned the freezer out [including some ice build up on the walls] & put a cup of water in it & I guess we'll leave it overnight & check it again in the AM. Any ideas what it could be?
