GE Smart water filter I purchased 2 years ago and installed in my GE Profile Artica developed a bunch of fatigue cracks in the plastic exterior and sprang a major leak inside my refrigerator, and was pouring out the bottom of my refrigerator door. Fortunately I was home when it happened and avoided a major flood. Anyone heard of a recall of these filters? One would think the GE engineers would have spec's a plastic that can handle a temperature environment of 27 to 40 deg F. I plan to mail the filter to GE so they design something better. Suggest everyone check their own filters before you have a similar experience.
