If the compressor in the back is warm, but the condensing coils not hot, replace the compressor start device AP3135289. Before removing wires, take a picture of them or make a scribble drawing. Be sure to plug in the run capacitor into the new device.

Our Whirlpool ET1WTKXKQ01 Top Freezer blows air in both compartments but spoils food. I don't hear the compressor kick on. THe area around the gaskets are cool, not warm.

We purchased the home last year and the appliance is nearing 10 years old. I don't know the history beyond this past year. My experience is that it is better to replace an older unit than to attempt repair. I am not adverse to repair but need help to troubleshoot or suggestions on top freezer reliable brands if the advise is to replace.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Michael
