Ok, seems that i have in fact repaired the range portion, however the light that was staying on, seems to have been a result of a bad control dial. the control for the front right burner when i disconnect it from the loop, the light cuts off, and works properly, as soon as i connect the wire, the light comes on...soooo,

it looks like i will be ordering a new control knob and hope for the best.

hope perhaps i helped someone.

Still Looking for some assistance.

I have managed to locate three connections that were made incorrectly under the cook top. now that i have repaired this, all the burners are now working correctly.

New issue now arises..... the "surface indicator light" remains on all the time. this is the small red light on the front of the unit, not the "hot surface" indicator on the surface....

i am continuing to work on this, but the light appears to be connected correctly, as do all the connections on the system now. i am going to take a look at the high voltage connections for the cord, but i am doubtful that this would be an issue.

any thoughts on this? i would be very happy to stop struggling with this and get back to cooking.

PLEASE HELP! :)

I just aquired a used maytag range/oven. when i got it, i was informed that a few months ago they replaced the right rear (small) element. however after they replaced it, the new burner will work fine when on alone, but when all burners are on, the right rear only operates at HIGH.

i know that it must have been a connection issue, but i can't seem to figure out the wiring diagrams that i have been able to find.

in looking at the underside of the cooktop, i cant see anything that jumps out at me as being wrong. i would love to repair this thing as it will be a great upgrade to my kitchen.

thanks for the help. i think if someone had some photos of the underside of the cooktop that showed the correct wiring it would really help me to make sure or to see where the hook up was made incorrectly.

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE HELP!!!!!
