You are welcome. I'm glad you were able to fix it.

Andrew,

I do not see anything wrong with the capacitor and the motor resistance, but the hot motor always means "bad motor".

- The part number for the motor is AP3179651

If you need the installation instructions, you can find them attached to this reply.

Thanks Gene,
Ran it in diagnostic mode today and the wash motor ran the first time but would not run on the second try (motor hummed). Set a normal cycle and ran it through on rapid advance, again motor did not run. Pulled front panel and noticed capacitor was hot and motor was extremely hot (too hot to touch). Checked capacitor 22.7uf and 11.6 ohms across the terminals. Pulled motor leads and checked the 2 leads from the motor to the capacitor (yellow and blue) 11.8 ohms. On the attached pic (motor terminal block) the resistance between the yellow and purple leads is 5 ohms. Blue and purple is 7.2 ohms. Do these values seem normal?. The motor turns with minimal effort.

Sounds like the motor has gone bad.

The dishwasher fills and heats fine but when the wash motor tries to run it hums loudly and will not run. When I originally noticed the humming it would run sometimes, and the humming would stop after the motor got up to speed, but now it wont run at all and hums until you hit cancel. Took the chopper cover off thinking there was some debris stuck in there but it was basically clean, and can be turned by hand. Kenmore Model # is 665.17364301. Any ideas?
