You can observe the machine in spin mode and determine if the motor and pulley are turning. If so, try replacing the thrust bearing, this part here.

hello there, was wondering if anyone could help ?
My maytag washer will not agitate and rinse, but will
not go into spin cycle. Is this a tranmission problem?
please advise.
