Here are your parts
Replacement parts for General Electric EDW5160N00SS Dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com

The valve is Item 744 in Section2 which is mounted under the unit usually on the left hand side.

Shut the water off to the dishwasher.
Place a shallow pan under the valve.
Unscrew the inlet connector till it starts to drip.
When your pan is near full re-tighten the fitting (usually you can do this with just your fingers) just till the dripping stops.
Empty your pan and repeat.
Keep doing this till the inlet line is empty.
Then remove the valve from the unit.
And clean/check the inlet screen.

If the screen is clean then you probably need a new valve.

Always a good idea to shut power off to the unit.
Also have paper towels or regular towels just in case you have a spill.
If you have them handy, you probably will not have a spill. If you do not have them handy a major spill is almost guaranteed.

Thanks for the help, When i add more water the arm spin fine. If i am reading your msg correctly. You want me to remove the water inlet valve and check/clean the screen or is that a different part. Can you tell me which part to look for and how easy it is to remove that part.

thanks

Check that there is not junk in the sump.
Be careful as there is often broken glass in the sump.
Also check that there is nothing wrapped around the chopper blade.

Check that to seal/connection for the center arm to the rear water supply conduit is OK.

Check that it is getting enough water.
Most units fill to just under the heating element.
You could add a quart or two of water after a fill.
Just be careful to not overfill the unit.
If the arms now spin I would say that is your problem.

The most likely cause is a partially clogged screen filter on the input side of the water valve.
Remove the valve from the unit and check/clean the screen filter.
Do not permanently remove it from the valve as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood.
