What is the part number for the gasket you've ordered? What is the color of it?

Gene.

I chose to replace my freezer door gasket because it was pinched/folded over on the hinge side of the door and not sealing tight and sometimes popping open. I ordered the part and received it. I held the gasket up to the door (placing it over the old gasket). The new gasket is approx. 2 inches longer than the old one on the door. I am very hesitant to take the old off and place this new one on for fear it may do the same thing. Is this normal for the gasket to be that much longer? The height of the rectangle appears to be right on. What should I do?
