You will need to check the thrust bearing on the machine. Lean the machine where you can get to the large pulley on the bottom. With the belt off, turn the pulley and see if it is releasing your brake. If not then you will need to replace the thrust bearing. My washer will not spin on the washing cycle, I replaced the drive belt and turn the washer on but it wouldn't spin but when I set it on the drain cycle it would spin, I could see the transmission spinning but after I tried to move the timer to the washing cycle a couple of times it would try to spin but it would locked up and it would not spin, now the motor will turn and the pulley turns but the drum and transmission won't spin at all. I hope you can help me with this.
