Sounds are very difficult for us to diagnose because we need to be there to listen to the type and location, and well, we aren't.

Take off the front and operate and see if you can narrow the location of the sound. You can try replacing the pump (Maytag upgraded that pump, don't know if you have the upgraded version). If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it. See the returns policy for conditions.

The above top load washer started making a vibrating sound when it seems the water was cycled. I took the back panel off and felt/ listen to sounds and it sounded like the water pump was slightly " chattering " due to possible bad bearing or bushing.
Is this a typical problem for a washer that is about 5 years and older, not a large family so not continue use.
