As long as it's still clean, with no chips out of the porceline, or rust, It is worth the fix. A common problem is "glazing" of the motor pulley. A replacement pulley, and new set of belts, fixes this. Also, while the belt is off the pump pulley, chsck to make sure you can spin the pump pulley by hand.

Maytag clothes washer - Model A208, SN# 347325 CV

Never a problem with this machine. Just packed it in. Cycle will start, tub will fill with water, then nothing. Slight burning smell when first happened. Lid switch checked, continuity in both directions. Can pull belts by hand, see motor turning. Belts look Ok, no bits of rubber evident. Some motor starter/capacitor piece attached directly to motor. Machine manufactored Nov. 79. Talk about not making them like they used to. Worth reparing? Appreciate any advice.
