I think I have a similar proble of getting to the burner igniter to replace it. I have a GE Spectra JGBP35BEA6BB and have learned that each burner has a separate ignitor, got pointed to the part and the diagram of he burner assembly. However, I can't lift the range top to get at the assembly. Is there a simple screw or catch I'm missing? I don't want to destroy the stove installing a $10 part.

I need to replace the igniter one of the front burner. After removing the screws to access the igniter screw, I can't remove the igniter screw because it has to be accessed from the bottom. I wonder if one has to remove the entire cooktop in order to replace the igniter. It looks like that if I remove one of the gas conduit, I may be able to access to the igniter screw. But I hesitate to do so. Please let me know what is the correct way. Thanks.
