When you have the hoses off also take a look into the cold valve.
Most valves have a screen filter built into them perhaps it is plugged.
If it is clean it, do not remove it permanently as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood.
If all OK hook the hoses up and swap the leads from the hot valve to the cold and cold to hot.
Now if you get cold water when the unit should be giving hot you know the valve is OK and the problem has to be elsewhere.
You also will not be able to get hot water even when the unit should be filling with cold.
For some reason the cold side is not getting power.
Just remember to switch them back when you finish the test.

hello what i would try first is disconnect the lines from the back of the appliance and see if water will run out of the cold line into a small garbage can.... sometimes the fill hoses have screens in them that can be clogged if the water runs fine out into the garbage can then u probably have a faulty water valve =)

I have a GE Washer - WCSR2090D5WW that will not allow cold water into the machine. When the temperature selector is on Cold there is no humming sound but when it is on Warm or Hot there is a humming sound and water fills the machine. I have removed the control panel and tested the leads on the water inlet valve as recommended for continuity and both Hot and Cold leads have continuity. Could this still me a problem with this part or does it mean I have something else wrong.
