FYI the unit is actually a Sanyo

I can only find a parts listing at AppliancePartsPros but if you go to the Sears Parts site they have an actual parts breakdown.

It does show a thermostat (Item 16). It may be inside a cover (Item 13) at the back of the unit.

Check if the compressor is constantly running (not cycling on/off).
You can usually hear them also you should be able to feel it vibrating and it should be warm.
If it is running all the time and not cooling down properly then you may be low on freon. This would be a fairly expensive repair and is probably not worth it.

I am assuming that after it was moved you let it sit for 24 hours before plugging it in. Just to be sure all the oil drained back into the compressor.

I bought this small upright Kenmore freezer off Craigslist and it looked really clean. I plugged it in and it froze a glass of water. That is about all it froze. It won't freeze meat, berries, ice cream. It all goes soft. There is no thermostat control on this unit so I can adjust temperature.

I vacuumed the coils, which weren't really dirty. The top seal seemed to don't be solid so I took of the door seal clean and reattached. That made for a perfect seal all the way around. Let it run for 4 hours and it seemed cooler. Put a few things in to test overnight. But still not freezing. There is just a very slight front on the side and front of the top coil but not much to speak of.

What is my next step on this? I really don't want to spend $75 for a serviceman to come out when I only spent $50 on the freezer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
