[FONT=&quot]So... I thought the problem with my dishwasher handle was that we were missing a spring. Indeed, we are missing a spring, but it also seems that the plastic handle (part no. 8269117, if the diagram I downloaded from Kitchenaid's web site is correct,) has shattered. At the moment, I've got one side of this handle working properly. The other can't work, due to the place at which the plastic has broken.

Looking inside the control panel, though, I can't see how in the world to get the old handle out, and therefore how to get a new handle in. I obviously have managed to unscrew the interior door panel to access the control panel, but at this pint the only screws I see seem to affect the electrical connections. I'm very, very unsure I want to disconnect anything electrical myself. But how in the world do I get this !()#$(!*# broken door handle out and replace it?
