Power to the unit is clean. Unit is 5 years old but has never been used. Any other suggestions?

If you are not familiar with house wiring then I would get an electrician in to repair the line. It is probably a bad connection or a bad breaker in the electrical box.

Hey thanks for that!
I found another 240 source in the kitchen and wired it across to the laundry room and now the washing machine is running normally!
Not sure what was wrong with the other connection, I don't have a proper multimeter so I couldn't test the exact voltage, just the relative difference.. so who knows.. its odd that it was making the dryer cross with the washer.. then again maybe if you make those things its not!

Here is your wiring diagram. Your model number was short a digit, the following is for a FS2. http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Webster/134769500.pdfThe way I read your post is that this was moved from the old house and ran OK there. If this is the case I would check the wiring at the new place. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. [COLOR="Red"]Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! [/COLOR] I am assuming that you did not have to do a cord/hook-up change re. the unit was either a 3 wire or a 4 wire hook-up at both places.

Just moved house, piped up the washer/dryer and plugged it in.
Pulling the washer select knob out does nothing.
Pressing the dryer start button does not start the dryer.
However, if the washer setting is on, pressing the dryer start button starts pouring water into the washer, for as long as I hold the button!
Any ideas? This is driving me nuts!
