Okay - the washer starts to move like it's going to spin but then stops abruptly. I've checked underneath to see if there's anything wrong with the belt. Everything looks okay. I am able to move the belt.

As the title says - I verified that it does fill with water and agitates. It also drains the water. I did check to see if a sock had lodged in the drain mechanism but there was nothing.

Is there a brake mechanism I should be looking into? I know very little about such things. Maybe someone can direct me to a repair manual?

HELP!
