It is starting to sound like a transmission problem, if everything I suggested is good. So you throw it in spin, and the motor runs but the tub does not move. Of course you checked the belt, and the pully's. If all is well there it is scrap time. Buy whirlpool. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Sorry I don't know what I was thinking - yes the agitator is there and it functions correctly.(Also #1 is there) With it installed on the shaft if I spin the agitator by hand the entire drum moves. It is much easier in one direction then the other. I assume this is normal? Any other ideas where to look? Just a reminder the original problem is that my clothes were wet after a complete cycle and when I forced the spin cycle I see no motion. This washer has been working for me for a number of years. Thanks again for the help

The agitator is # 11. #1 screws down on the shaft, is that part there. That could very well be the problem. It is not screwing down, that could be the reason the agitator is coming off. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Thanks. 14,15,16 look good and I can spin the drum by hand. What number is the agitator? Also, what should I look for to indicate its bad? Thanks again!

That picture I posted for you is the breakdown on your product, you could either have a bad agitator, or if you look at part # 14, 15, 16. Some times the #16 breaks, and the drum will not turn, and it will not agitate. Your washer does not have a coupler. Check it out, and let us know. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Thanks. I assume this is going to be located below the agitator? Do you know the best way to get at this? I have White-Westinghouse MWX233RES3. Do you know of any common parts that fail on these guys? Thanks again.

Check the coupler between the motor & tranny.

I recently found that after starting my washer I come back and the clothes are still soaking wet. I started the washer again at the spin cycle and bypassed the lid switch with my hand. There is a noise but no motion of the agitator. I can spin the agitator by hand. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
