Keep on prying on it with a small screwdriver or butter knife, it will come out.
If the chopper is clogged, replace it and the check valve next to it in the housing.
With the cover off, turn off the water to the dishwasher and run it. Add a little water and verify the pump pumps up. If not, you have a bad motor impeller or a bad pump motor.

I took out the screw and popped the clip as pointed to, but it would not come loose.

A glass broke in the machine and it took 3 weeks for me to find out about it.

The machine took on a whole new sound.

I think it has ground up the impeller in the pump, but I cannot figure out how to take off the housing.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get it out, so I can change the impeller...??UserPostedImage
