Is it just the upper portion of the agitator that is not working? If so you may need the agitator repair kit.

If the whole agitator doesnt move and the grinding is down at the bottom it could be you transmission going out. First check out the upper agitator and see if thats the problem and let us know!

My Roper washer isn't agitating correctly. If I push down on it while running it will work a little and it can be turned by hand when not on. It makes a sort of grinding sound when running and doesn't turn much
