Hi thanks alot, it was a bad fan, my automobile mechanic came over last night and tested it with the ohm meter and it was the fan so he fixed it and as of this morning at 5a.m. the temp was down to 40.

Set the ohm meter to the lowest ohms and zero the meter. remove one wire at a time and mark them. it must be on a cold evaporator to test it.touch & hold one probe to one wire touch the other probe to the other wire terminal, should read zero resistance if not it's bad and needs replacing.

ok so when checking for continuity is it supposed to be open or what?:confused:

If the fan hasn't kicked on that maybe the problem because that fan pulles the cold air from the freezer into the frig. You can get the OEM part or use a D550(on most models). If you have an ohm meter check the defrost thermostat for continuity too.

ok because I plugged the refer back in and in the last 2-3 hours the fan has not kicked on at all but the coils and all that stuff have iced over again what can I do next?

That fan kick on several times/day and yes if that fan isn't working then you won't get much if any cold air into the frig

Hi did as you said it looks ok but how often is the fan that is behind there supposed to turn on and does it (the fan) have anything to do with cooling down the fridge part?

Try unpluging your refrigerator, removing that back panel in the freezer and using a hair drier to thaw ALL the ice. Then look by the coil in the back you will see the defrost thermostat (it looks about the size of a quarter and about an inch think) see if the top looks popped up (or test for continuity with an ohm meter if you have one). If it looks popped up, chared or defective in anyway replace it with part AP2150133 .
Unfortunately I think your "tech" didn't look thoroughly or was what are commonly known in our area as a parts changing monkey.

Hi last Saturday 8/16/08 I had the defrost timer to the refrigerator part replaced. It took 2 days to cool down to 39 degrees the tech came back out on Monday and said it was because there is this paper thin gap in the top of the door. As of yesterday this stupid refer will only get down to 70 degrees. I took off the wall inside the freezer and all the parts were frozen in there so I let them defrost a minute and took out all the ice from the down draft thingy it still hasn't gone down even 1 degree but if I stand in front of it I can feel cold air blowing out from under the refer. I really can't afford to call another tech in the last one cost me $178.00 what do you think I could or should do? I guess this happened after my daughter -in-law had the door open for a minute to clean out the refer.
