When I look in the freezer the part that was making a noise is called a central cool system.

My refrigerator central control system started to make a noise like a motor was going out. The refrigerator did not keep cool as it should. It would freeze ice but took a long time to freeze. We are thinking the central control system needs to be replaced. We would like to have your opinion on our diagnosis and also could you give instructions on how to replace unit. My husband is mechanically inclined. We would appreciate your advise and direction.
