Defrost thermostat seems to have been the problem here. After replacing it I did a close inspection and found a bad solder job on one lead under the rosin cap. I can't see how it could be repaired, only replaced.
So far it seems to be working right.

Replace the defrost thermostat clipped to the top of the evaporator AP3884317 If that fails to fix it, replace the motherboard in the back AP4436216

have u figured the problem out ?
i have the samething ice builds up evry 5 days & i defrost it myself
what to do to fix ?

After replacing the defrost heater and the evap blower mtr still defrosting manually.
What tests can I do to prove what needs replacement?
