Ron3033, with the power cord unplugged, the black wire and the violet wire would need to be disconnected from the timer and the timer terminals tested for continuity at the position of failure. If there is continuity, the timer WP3953248 is causing the second fill to occur regardless of the selector setting.

Kenmore Sears top load washer 110 20912991

The washer wants to do a second rinse whether the rinse selection is set to single or double rinse. Even if I pull the wire harness off the rinse switch, it wants to still do a second rinse cycle. I tried a multimeter across the rinse switch tabs with the harness disconnected, no beep on single rinse and beep on second rinse.

Does this suggest the wash timer switch is faulty, or could it be that little circuit board? I am stumped. Please help, as I am not in a position to afford a new washer.
