I was afraid your model would not come up over here, so none of us are going to be able to give you meaningful (or even useless) advice.

Sorry we could not be more helpful. Good luck.

Hi There,

Thanks for that, i am in the UK and bought the machine from one of the big stores over here (Curry's/Dixons)
I just thought that the LED's should either work or fail but not flash on and off, and from what i have heard even if you do replace the whole PCB the eeprom still needs to be re programmed to install the wash programmes into it. This is my sisters machine and i don't think she wants to spend megabucks on it, but it would be nice to find an easy fix.
RIP OFF BRITAIN STRIKES AGAIN!!
Thanks again for your trouble,

Chris.:)

Hi Chrissy

Uh, I have a feeling you are not in the US?

I cannot find anything on your model, so I am kinda at a loss here. Let me know where you purchased the machine and where you are and I will try and do some more digging.

For the most part you would just replace the electronics part in the machine, should not have to do any reprogramming, but if your machine is off shore (off US shore that is) I may be wrong.

I sympathize with you on the cost of the parts, (remember what I said about GE)

Hi There,
Thanks for your reply.
That is the only model number that i can see,(WD860P 1600spin Ultima) i have found a whole new PCB for it priced at 114 GBP! and hoped that it could be done for much less.
The LEDS are flashing, does that sound like an LED fault or do you think it could be a supply or micro fault.?
I have also heard that if you replace the front panel you also need to have the eeprom re-programmed?
I repair TV and VCR's so may be looking for a bigger problem than i actually have with microprocessor faults etc:)

Thanks again for your reply,

Chris.

Can you post the full model number. Your model number is not coming up.

If the machine works fine otherwise, you will probably need to replace the display. With a good model number we can probably find the part(s) you need, but be prepared, GE (who makes this) parts are expensive!

Hi All,
Newbie here,:)
My Hotpoint WD860p washer/dryer has a fault with the display backlights.

One of them is flashing and the others do not work at all, this makes it difficult to see the display. The machine seems to work fine otherwise though.
Any ideas??

Thanks in advance,

Chris.
