Faulty timer. Timer must pause the motor in order for it to start in reverse direction for drain/spin. You are pausing the motor by opening/closing the lid.

Hi,

I have an Amana washing machine that's been acting up. When I start it up and it feels with water all it does the entire cycle will just agitate the clothes. No rinse or spin. When the timer eventually makes its way to off the machine turns off with a load full of water/detergent.

However, if I lift the lid and shut it when the timer is on rinse/spin it will perform the correct function that the timer is on. It's annoying having to raise the lid and shut it when the timer makes its way to rinse and spin. Any idea of what might be the problem with this??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
