Rotate the brake cam driver CCW. This should rotate the brake cam which pulls the brake shoes away from the brake drum which then allows the basket drive to rotate. If rotating the brake cam driver CCW does not release the brakes, take off the C-clip and remove brake cam driver to inspect the brake cam and brake shoes.

Come on guys I need some help with this. I even took out the inner tub and just hooked up the motor to the transmission and when I start the spin cycle it only spins for a split second like always. The transmissions not locked up at all, I can spin it freely. Like I said I think I've ruled out the coupler, clutch, lid-switch, pump, motor. I mean looking at it it's just stuck in neutral. How can I test braking system, because #1 I can't turn it at all when the tranny is out, and #2 I've read that a locked up break causes it to spin very briefly.
Please help!

I also bypassed the switch lid and tried turning it on without the pump attached and it still doesn't spin

Hello,
My Kenmore 80 series washer won't spin. The couplers are good, the clutch is good. Everything spins up until where the clutch meets the brake cam. The switch-lid is also fine. I've taken it all apart and the only problem I have is that when I take the transmission out, I can't pull that whole braking system down or rotate it at all.
