If shocks and springs ok, you probably have a busted spin basket strut inside the tub, just get close to the tub and listen for the noise.

Thanks bentwrench1999:

The shocks and the springs are still in tack, no problems there. It just sounds like the motor is making the noise when it goes into the final high speed spin. Is there a transmission inside the motor that could have failed?

Thanks,

S

Remove the lower access panel and check out the little shock absorber. You will have one on each side of the tub. If these break, the machine makes a lot of noise. I sell a lot of these for some reason..Also make sure one of the suspension springs are not broken. The shock # is AP3856711.

Good Luck, :) wrench

Is there anyone out there that might know the answer to this problem?

Thanks.

When the washer goes into the final spin, it shakes pretty bad and there is a clanking noise. Would this be coming from bearings or the motor? The machine is moved away from everything so it is not banging on anything.

No problems during regular spin, just the high speed final spin.

Thanks for the help.
