There must be a sensor to control ice thickness, a parts diagram would be helpfull

I have a kitchen aid ice maker that will not drop the ice from the freeze plate. When first started it may drop two loads then it never drops again. Ice becomes so thick I have to turn he unit off so it will melt enough to drop off the freeze plate
