The easiest way is to defrost the refrigerator with the freezer door open.

We have determined that the valve is bad & that's why the ice maker works and the water dispenser doesn't. Where can we buy the valve for the GE Profile Artica?

Do you know where to find the valve if you have determined it is not working properly?

The tank should be full, if it has an air pocket in it you will have the symptoms you are getting do as abadfish stated above.

Yes there is a tank inside the frig. Does it need to be filled entirely to start off? Should it always be full as I dispense water?

I assume water is drawn from the dispenser to the front of the door. Water then is pumped back in the tank from one of the valves? Should the tank always be full?
