Got a quick-connect connector and tube from GE parts store. Romoved the frayed part and replaced that with new piece. Have enough to deal with few more of these (seems to be a known issue with GE Profile)...

Happened again :-(. The tube from the pump to dispenser is frayed.

How to replace the tube ?

THanks.

Hi,

Waterdispenser stopped working. After checking the water flow in the bottom front realized it was not freezing problem. Opened the back panel and took out the water pump. That are was flooded. The clear pipe goign out of the water pump was broken at about 3-4 inches from the pump. There is a length of around 4-5 inches of the pipe that had turned brown (middle of it became brittle and broke). I cut the pipe to eliminate the brown section and finished putting things back. Water dispenser is working fine now.

My questions:

1. What caused the tube turning brown ?

2. Can I easilt replace the tube if it happens again ? Right now it is pretty taut.

This pipe seems to go into fridge (presumably) for maintaining humidity and another pipe comes down (probabaly continuation of the first one) and continue from under the fridge to freezer door through a conector.

Thanks,
Anil
