Are both elements on at the same time when in bake?
They should not be.
They should switch back and forth.
Even if they are both on at the same time they should only pull around 25 amps. So the breaker should not trip unless you also have stove top elements on.

Do both elements heat evenly along their length?
If not it may be a bad element.

I would check the connections at the wall receptacle and the terminal strip in the unit.
Be sure that the power is Off when doing this.

Thanks this makes more sense than any of the other posts. I'll let you know what I find.

50 amp breaker trips during oven operation. Replaced breaker, same problem. Unit should operate on 40 amp breaker. Top and bottom elements operate in bake mode.
