Pull the burner tube up and disconnect the safety valve. Take an adjustable wrench to remove gas connect make sure you have the main valve at the wall off. Remove any screws that may be attached to brackets. If you have an adaptor for the feed gas line coming in remove it and use gas putty to get a good seal. After put back together turn gas back on and run the oven and spray area with soapy water to see if you have bubbles which indicates a leak........if you don't smell gas or see gas bubbling in the soapy water or windex you should be good.

My gas range is leaking gas from the safety valve under the oven burner the valve is part number AP3879604. I was trying to figure out the best way to remove the valve and replace it with a new one.
