Hi Randall,

Sounds like the problem is a bad infinite switch for this burner.

Hi, Gene,

Thanks for the reply.....

Starting with the cooktop switches all off, the dual element (front, left) will come on when the breaker is turned on. The other 3 burners remain will remain off until you turn their respective switch on.

Looks like it is something specific to the larger dual element. Is there an easy fix to correcting this problem?

Many thanks.

Hi Randall,

Do all burners stay On or just some of them?

Gene.

Dear Appliance Parts Pros,

I have a ceramic electric Whirlpool Cooktop model GJC3034HB3. It is 10 years old and has worked perfectly until now.

The problem is that the burners switches do not work properly. When the breaker is on, the burners come on despite the cooktop switches being turned off. The only way we can turn it off and on is via the breaker switch at the breaker box.

Is there a simple solution to this problem?

Many thanks...

Randall
