Hi.

In the case like yours it could be one of the two parts at fault. It's ether inverter board or the magnetron. You can get both of them from APP and return the one you don't need.

The magnetron Part number: 8206317
Part number: 8206317

The inverter Part number: W10217710
Part number: W10217710

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Interior and Ventilation parts for Whirlpool MH9181XMQ0 - AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.

Whirlpool OTC MicroWave Posted: Monday, May 27, 2013 2:26:18 PM(UTC)

Today our over-the-stove / range hood Whirlpool MicroWave made a brief spark sound, after which we briefly smelled a burning odor.

Now, it will still heat, but just barely. It takes about 4X longer to heat anything.

It sounds normal when it runs, and everything appears normal, it's just not creating as much energy as it used to.

I would love to be able to fix this myself by replacing a part.

I appreciate this forum, and have purchased parts for other appliances here.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
