It took a long time to figure this one out. Even the manual was wrong, very wrong.
To start, you have to take the top mounting screws out of the cabinet above to tilt the microwave down about 4-6 inches.
While leaving this hinged on the wall bracket, remove the 5 philips screws on the top front of the panel. The powered vent cover will slide to the left an inch and then remove by tilting forwards and sliding up.
Once that is out, you have to remove the center charcoal filter and the lid beneath it. There is one screw in the front of the lid.
Even once that is removed, it's a complete mystery where the bulb is. It is held in place by a pair of little metal tabs right in the front center. Gently squeeze the tabs together and pull upwards. Surprise, the bulb is there! Never a single marking of where the bulb is. I found it because there are 2 wires to the clip (which have to power a bulb). This is not a basic bulb, it is a 2 prong halogen. Use care when replacing it-no fingerprints.

Hi. I need to replace the light bulb on this microwave. I believe I need to take the outer shell in order to get to the bulb. Also, it appears that the case has Torx security type of screws. Do I need to keep in mind anything else, in terms of safety? The unit is unplugged from the built in cabinet. Why do they make this stuff so hard to repair?:(

Thanks for your help!!!!
