The microwave has to be removed from the cabinet. The rest is simple - screws, screws and more screws.

Hi, I have the same microwave with the same problem, everything works, but it will not heat and I didn't not smell any burning, it just stopped heating.
how hard is it to replace the magnetron.

Hi Kerryi,

If the microwave does not make any unusual noises then most likely the problem is a bad magnetron.

In order to replace it the microwave has to be removed from the cabinet.

- The part number for the magnetron is AP2025937

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE microwave Model JVM1440WA01

My Microwave appears and sounds like it is working fine but does not heat anything. Any info would be great thanks in advance.
