CAN SOMEONE TELL US HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THE DRYER SO WE CAN REMOVE THE DRUM IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE HEATING ELEMENT? WE BROUGHT THE PART, MY HUSBAND AND SONS TRIED TO TAKE IT APART AND COULDN'T REMOVE THE DRUM. NOW THEY WANT TO TRASH IT. I HAVE TRIED SEARCHING YOU TUBE AND THE INTERNET FOR A VIDEO OF HOW TO OPEN UP THE DRYER FOR ACCESS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING SIMILAR. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A VIDEO SHOWING HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THE DRYER?? (found the washer....)
Thank you.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for AEQ7000EGO models | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is the tech sheet
http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...r/134682200ts_wd_EFS.pdf

And here is a manual
Frigidaire Affinity Dryer Service Manual - ApplianceDigest.com
You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer.

Error points toward your no heat problem.

I would start by checking the power, the heating coil needs the full 240 volts everything else runs off of half the line (120).
Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times.
Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Do this with the heater off and on.
Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

If OK
Unplug the unit and ones side of the heating coil and check it with a meter, should be around 12 ohms.

If OK
Check the hi-limit thermostat, should be 0 ohms.
If this is open get back to us as there are other things that should be checked before replacing it.
THIS FORUM IS DEAD!!!!!!!
