The start switch is not the problem. Normally I would be able to tell you with certainty that the motor was the cause of this. However on this model I believe there is a circuit board that could cause this problem also. The power outage during the storm could have damaged it.

Our dryer was running when our power went off for about 30 seconds during a rain storm. Now when you push the start button, the dryer starts, but then shuts back off...:( I changed the thermal fuse, but that hasn't solved the problem....
