I replaced many parts in the DW and still couldn't get it to work properly.

It wasn't until I took off the electrical connection panel that I noticed what I think was the problem. The wire nuts and supply/DW wires had overheated and fused together into a brittle mess. I cut it out and re-wired the supply electrical line to the DW and haven't had a problem since... now 6 months.

The very generous return policy allowed me to return all the parts, and the whole repair was only a couple of wire nuts. I might've been on the hook for some of the shipping...

And I say no problems, but the kickplate was frustrating to put back on and is still off. But the dishwasher works!!

hope that helps...

Same problem. What did you do?

So now the Ctrl Button has been replaced. Nothing. Put both it and Electronic Control in (both brand new) and still nothing. No lights, no response.

Would the bad wiring in the door cause this? or is there additional under the machine?

Thoughts??
would a shorted heated element cause this? or a crapped out motor?

Almost ready to give up and pay the repair guy... almost.

thanks.

Yes could be bad wiring or a bad control panel.

Ok, I've replaced the Electronic Control ( AP4390026) and no change. No lights on the buttons, no action at all...

So does that leave my problem at the Ctrl Button (AP4323806)?

What are the other likely possibilities? Bad wiring? Both out..hmmm..

Thanks!

Guess is drain pump is clogged/broken
This would not shut the unit down

and / or control button panel is broken?
Could be but odds are slim that all the buttons would go out at the same time.
You could measure them with a meter, see the tech sheet.

Or control board is bad? How does one confirm these ?
Yu could try getting into diagnostics, see the tech sheet,
There is really no good way to check this as companies do not publish control board schematics so you have to replace it and hope fr the best.

Note that if you purchase it from AppliancePartsPros and it does not fix your problem you can return it. Please see their return policy.

Here are your parts

Maytag Dishwasher model MDB8851AWS1

The dishwasher stopped working few minutes into cycle, and my guess is during rinse or initial drain phase (2" water remain). No buttons work or lights on it. Diagnose button sequences don't work. Does have power all the way to control buttons but no response. Unit was shut off at breaker (hardwired to house) and retried with no change. Tested switch with multimeter, and tested okay (those were replaced about 18 months ago).
There we no visible corrosion, wear or burn marks anywhere on interior electrical components, so that's good.

Checked drain hose in rear interior of unit and exit hose, both were clean.

Guess is drain pump is clogged/broken and / or control button panel is broken? Or control board is bad? How does one confirm these ?

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks,
E.U,

And a bonus, the latch is closed which I noticed AFTER re-assembling. Easy way to unlock it? or disassemble again...
