As long as you are sure that the wires are for that part, then it should not make a difference since the motor and the solenoid are both 120 volts AC.

On the motor I would connect white to white just to keep it consistent.

I have ordered a new pump/motor for my dishwasher, and the power hookups are different color from the original part. Should I be hooking up grey to black and white to white?

And the hookup for the solenoid is up in the air as well.

Any advice? The hookups are the same, so I don't need to add any wires or anything, but I just don't want to hook the power up the wrong way and the instructions with the new pump/motor don't explain the power hookups.
