We have a Thermador, model CMT20, self cleaning double oven and the latch release switch does not work on the bottom oven. Works fine on the top oven. Any suggestions?

Check the door latch solenoid for continuity. Check if 120VAC is coming to the solenoid while the switch is "on". Check the door switch (on the door frame).

Here are the break down diagrams for the Thermador oven Model CMT-20

This oven is in a brick wall and I have to remove a pantry type cabinet about 2 feet over to gain access to the oven. Will do this and then check solenoid, door and latch switches. Both latches work from the same switch so I am getting power to the upper door but not the bottom door. Also, how do you gain access to the bottom latch assembly which is in a small concealed compartment? Take the unit completely apart?

It is a real headache. You have to remove both oven doors and the cover between ovens.
