Both simmer burners emit no gas, solenoids check ok, orifices seem clear spark clicker works on all, seems like control unit ($140.00) what do you think?

So reading all these posts re no gas on XLO burners, it appears that Thermador had an issue and has corrected with the $140 kit containing potentiometers and simmer control unit and these units can't be purchased seperately. Is this correct?
Also, is the piping and wiring accessed by removing the 4 burner venturis and then the top of the range? I would like to run the tests Gene provided before spending the $140....
