I ordered and igniter for the oven of this range. When I originally entered the model number it could not find the exact model. It gave me an alternate I chose it. Got the part and it was a flat igniter not a round one like the unit has. I call APP customer service and explained. The CS person this was a replacement part for this unit and be used in place of the round one. So I installed it and it powered up fine so I buttoned everything up and tried to pre-heat the oven. I heard to gas come on and waited, and waited, and waited and when I finally lit WOOSH!! it about blew the door off.

The flat unit does appear to be further away (not much) from the burner and maybe that's why it did NOT light faster and the gas build up was to much by the time it found the igniter.

So the question is: Should this be using a round and not flat ingiter and will this solve the WOOSH! problem?

This is an apartment I rent out and this will not do.

Thanks in advance for any assistance given.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!! And Hoo-Rah for all of our troops, past present and future.
