Oven door still beeping and showing as locked after replacing latch door
Model Number: RF368LXKB Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Hello Appliance Pros,
I would appreciate if you can provide some help on this issue.
I decided to clean the oven (Whirlpool Range model # RF368LXKB) and then I cancelled the process before it had finished. At that time the over started beeping and showing error code F5E1.
Doing some research I found out that the broken piece was AP3968901 (W10107830) - Rear latch assembly.
I ordered it from your web site and replaced it. I also reset the error.
After replacing it, the oven is still beeping. Now it shows error "LOCKED". However, the oven door is not locked.
The 2 parts look the same. The only difference that I see is that the old one has a moving piece (the roundish white flat disk where the door should be hooked up). It rotates about a quarter turn. The new one does not. I don't know if the moving piece is because the old one is broken or it actually should be that way.
The new one that I put in place does not rotate even a bit. I don't want to try to force it. What else should I check?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
