Model Number: 31FN-7 Brand: Magic Chef Age: More than 10 years
I have a 25-year old range (natural gas). About 8 months ago, the oven pilot (primary) was repeatedly going out. I attempted to clean the pilot assembly, and blew out the line, but the problem persisted.
I finally replaced the thermostat, with a new old stock unit. For 7 months there were no further problems. Now, the pilot has started to go out again---probably every few days, but it may be sooner than that. The pilot has had to be relit 3 times in the past week. The flame is mostly blue when pilot is on. Could the new thermostat be bad already? Could something else cause the new thermostat and the previous one to fail? Could the problem not be related to the thermostat this time? Thanks in advance for your help. Ads By Google Related Models |
