Default GE XL44 stove top ignition problem
Model Number: JGBS23WEA2WW   Brand: GE   Age: More than 10 years

Before I replace the spark igniter for the stove top (not oven), I want to make sure that's the right part to replace. Here are the symptoms.

The problem started with the 2 left burners not clicking and igniting (could be started with a match). Then sporadically the right two worked for a while, now they too are not working. I've reviewed the diagrams for this model on this web site. Are there other parts that could be the culprit besides the spark igniter?

Appreciate any input...

Ron

Sounds like the spark module is bad (number 110 on this diagram). I would also check the burner switches (one on each of the four burner valves, right behind burner knob) for continuity with an ohmmeter.
