the problem is the element heats up you can see gets red hot but no gas coming out for over to light does the element control the gas are should i be looking for something else?

Most likely the problem is a weak igniter (the element which you've seen red). The correction is to replace igniter. - The igniter Part number: AP2934763

Gene thank you i will order the part that will also stop the gas from going threw the tube? because i tryed with amatch and it would not light.

Are you sure the gas is flowing through the burner now? Can you smell it?
